Education: PhD in Genetics (UNESP-São Paulo State University) Main research fields: Cytogenetics and Genomics Large background in chromosomal and genomic organization and evolution of insects, mainly Orthoptera, Coleoptera, Hemiptera, and Lepidoptera. My research integrates chromosomal and bioinformatic data to address questions related to organization and genome evolution of repetitive DNAs in insects. Some of the main focus are: sex chromosomes origin and evolution, B chromosomes origin and evolution, heterochromatin and multigene families evolution.
