I have developed my scientific career focused on the study of post-transcriptional regulation, combining both computational and experimental approaches. Recently, I have pioneered the work of cellular lineage reconstruction using single-cell transcriptomics to understand which are the gene expression changes driving cellular differentiation. I have a broad background in biology and bioinformatics, with specific training and expertise in high-throughput sequencing methods including single-cell transcriptomics, post-transcriptional regulation and comparative genomics. As a group leader, my research focuses on understanding how post-transcriptional regulation is involved in the development of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases using iPSC-based modelling and single-cell omics approaches
